seven reasons KCPCO is different
Alright. People always tell me my work is different and yes, it is. I strive for 'different.' Average or standard does not interest me. I need more. There are several ways KCPco is different. I'm not saying there aren't other photographers who can do what I do but nobody does it quite the same. Love it or hate it, here's what makes KCPco stand out: 1. Scouting. It's preposterous for me to think a photographer may just show up on the day and ask the bride where they want to be photographed. Call it attention to detail or just plain OCD but this will never happen with KCPco. I scout out venues, surrounding locations, exteriors, often multiple times, formulating a photographic itinerary that will maximize your venue and save time on the day. I plan for every possibility then improvise in the moment. It's true I take every wedding, regardless of coverage, this seriously which brings me to 2. I take every wedding seriously. I make them personal. I view each wedding as an opportunity to create art, better than the last. I'm constantly pushing myself to do better work. I will never be laissez-faire about a shoot, regardless of type or size. 3. I'm a storyteller first and a photographer second. Your day is a story, the story of you as a couple becoming one, two families uniting and your joy, love and celebration. I shoot every wedding with this in mind. It's not just about the cool bridal party portraits, it's about the moments in between moments; the unexpected little details almost nobody even notices.
4. It's also about the cool bridal party photos. I relish the opportunity to stage several people into one frame, giving each person direction to produce magazine caliber spreads. You can see some examples of these under 'recent work' and in the 'look book.' 5. I retouch every photo individually. Yesterday I took 2000 photos for a wedding with three and a half hours of coverage. Over the next few days I will be curating a final collection, reviewing each photo individually before selecting the best of the best. To the shortlisted collection I apply the KCPco 'look' which best suits the colors, lighting, etc... then retouch each image again individually to maximize their potential. 6. I design your photos into a fine art photo-book at no additional charge. Last season, I did some tests with an incredible press printer to see if I could start including photo-books in packages in lieu of digital prints. During this time, I created several books for clients, all complimentary. After the trial, it was obvious the books were a success so I transformed my packages to incorporate them without increasing my prices. 7. I believe in being transparent. In the interest of saving you time, I publish my pricing formula here. I don't try to super-size my services by recommending more than you need and I don't quote clients based on the number of guests they have. My pricing is based on coverage alone. Well, that's it, thanks for reading 'Seven Reasons KCPco is Different.' To quote my wife's favourite movie, "We are different but there's something kind of fantastic about that, isn't there?"
I believe in being transparent: publishing my pricing formula online as well as being clear and concise in all aspects of my service.
Above is a selfie of myself and my wife. Although she does not photograph at my side she has been integral in the growth of Kingdom Come Photography and in my eyes, is the most gorgeous woman who ever existed.
I believe the key to incandescently radiant photography is to plan out every conceivable detail then show up and take photos that are 100% spontaneously natural. I also believe in exemplary communication from initial inquiry to final package. I work hard to ensure the entire process is easy, simple and enjoyable for you as a client.
I believe in a quality product and delivering goods that are of a higher quality than paid for. I believe in delivering a final product which does not just include beautiful photographs but the sum of which tell a beautiful story. Archived with old-world craftsmanship, your book will tell your story, refined by minimalistic and modern design.
